Gentle Salute To The Sun
A round or three of salute to the sun, can be perfect for when you are short on time, but still want to make your practice a priority.
They not only warm and open your body ( a MUST in Winter ) but help prepare your body for the deeper yoga stretches and holds to come.
The sun is our life source and it basically makes the world go round. A sun salutation, or Surya Namaskar in Sanskrit, is an opportunity to say thanks to this glowing ball of fire for all it does for our planet. It is an opportunity to show our gratitude.
Sun salutations are not just about the spiritual, they also have a lot of physical benefits. Impacting on your heart, liver, intestines, stomach, chest, throat and legs, it is a whole body workout. A sun salutation will also purify your blood by improving circulation to all your major organs throughout your body, ensure proper functioning of the stomach, bowels and nerve system.
